Coming home from a superb weekend at Woburn Abbey, the clutch gave up on my Bug. Luckily the RAC got us home.

I don't know exactly what's gone wrong but after several posts on the various forums, I think the answer has been arrived at. I've even had a couple of offers of help in replacing the clutch which I'm very grateful for - anyone who knows of my 'mechanical skills' will know I'm NOT capable of doing it myself.

See Ivan Smith's excellent forum under Problems

When we eventually got home, we had a call from Richard and Liz looking for a campsite in the Forest of Dean. After a quick decision on my part they came to stay with us for the night before continuing their holiday by touring parts of Wales. I didn't expect to see them again so was mighty pleased and surprised to see the familiar shape of their Bug complete with trailer at Chepstow.

I grabbed a old digi camera I keep in the car and managed to get a few photos through a rainy windscreen.

I'm sure Rich and Liz will agree it was raining like hell and the wind on the Severn Bridge didn't help either.

Really made my day !!!

YES WE ARE ON THE MOVE

As many of you have known and many more speculated the Bubblecar Museum is on the move!

We have found bigger and better premises, still in Lincolnshire but with more room for camping, better rally field and facilities, larger café, and even with a bit of luck with an upstairs to the Museum itself. It's not on a trunk road and it has a rather excellent pub one mile from the site.
We were prevented from expanding on this site and we have searched for a long time for something different, we want to display more cars and more related nostalgia items to show the cars in the best way. That’s the plan, the website will be updated with progress, new acquisitions and pictures, we will be happy to take rally bookings for 2011.

All rallies booked this year will be as usual although the Museum wont be open. All other facilities as booked will be the same.

Opening hours & entrance fee

The Museum will be open from 10am (last admissions 4pm) at weekends and on Bank Holidays until the 14th June 2010 inclusive.

Groups can telephone (01400 262637) to arrange a visit at a time to suit them, including evening visits.

Entrance fees: adults £2.50, children 75p
